Epoch Times: In May 2021 He Told Yahoo There Were “No Changes” on Trump’s Account

On May 5, 2021, The Epoch Times published "Twitter Plans to Keep Trump Ban Intact, Says CFO," by Jack Phillips. The piece states that there had been "no changes" about Trump's permanent suspension, and attributes that line to Twitter CFO Ned Segal speaking to Yahoo on Tuesday — May 4, 2021. Epoch Times quotes Segal: "When you step back and think about our policies, we want to work hard to be consistent, to be transparent so people know exactly what to expect from us. We don't have an oversight board like that [like Facebook]. Our team is accountable for the decisions that we make. There is no changes to anything we have talked about in the past."

The same Epoch Times article cites the Yahoo Finance URL as the underlying interview. This page treats the quoted sentences as Segal's words as Epoch Times reported them from that interview. It does not invent additional quotes. It does not convert a "no changes" line into a newly discovered January 8 takedown order. February 10 was the first on-camera permanence answer. May 4-5 is the follow-up: still banned, no changes, "our team is accountable."

February: permanent, even if he wins. May: no changes. "Our team is accountable for the decisions that we make." He put the company's name on the ban twice, on the record. Accountability is a word. America was still locked out.
