On October 8, 2025, Reuters reported that Elon Musk and X Corp. had reached a settlement in the lawsuit by four former Twitter executives, including former CFO Ned Segal, "who claim they were not paid $128 million in promised severance pay." Reuters: "The terms of the settlement, which was first announced in a filing in San Francisco federal court last week, were not disclosed." A federal judge on October 1 had pushed back deadlines "so the settlement can be finalized."

The New York Post the same day reported the settlement and named Segal among the plaintiffs. ABC7 San Francisco reported a court order signed October 1 indicating the sides had reached a settlement without detailing terms, and delayed depositions, including of Musk. The Epoch Times separately reported Musk agreeing to settle the $128 million lawsuit. Those are news accounts of a civil settlement. They are not a published judgment awarding a stated sum to Segal. This page does not invent a payout figure. The 2017 8-K still governs what the policy said on paper. The complaint still governs what they asked. The settlement terms, as of the cited reporting, were not disclosed.
